Recently I've read that they own a large proportion of the shares in the company and (due to debts) have been made to sell some of them (i.e. they're a distressed seller). They have a temporary reprieve where they do not need to sell any more until January'18.
However, Google shows that they initially invested in Motif and were being paid interest on that investment both with shares in the company, but also in cash.
I'd love to have a clearer picture about the current situation, and also the history of the relationship.
